Great Places for Water Lovers in South Africa

Much has been said about the magnificent scenery and glorious ground for a holiday in South Africa – its beautiful landscapes, geological wonders and rich fauna undoubtedly become a great country to visit. The earth is not all there in South Africa, but – its waters are as impressive as well.

Saltwater or freshwater?

People with an affinity for water, either fresh or salt water, find something to make your holiday unforgettable in South Africa. Bordered by two oceans, with 3,000 km of coastline, majestic rivers, spectacular scenery, picturesque lake systems and rich in wetlands, there is no end to the possibility for those who do not mind (or even prefer ) to get their feet wet and wide!

Surfers Paradise
Considered one of the leading countries in the world of surf, hundreds of surf spots things to offer different levels of experience. The beautiful coastline and waves of high quality, a large number of surfers in parties in South Africa want to stay forever. J Bay, the collective term for the region of the Eastern Cape, including Cape St Francis, Jeffreys Bay and Port Elizabeth is known for its world class waves.

The coast of KwaZulu-Natal’s famous surfing at any time of year to plan their holidays with their Reef Classic breaks, beach breaks and low temperatures of hot water all year. Western Cape Camps Bay, Clifton, Bloubergstrand and Muizenberg Hermanus also offers great waves and beaches – as well as a dolphin or a penguin, if you’re lucky.

We must not forget is picturesque Garden Route: Plettenberg Bay and beaches Robberg Mirador and the desert and the port of Victoria has amazing waves that are unforgettable holiday surfing in South Africa.

Not so gently flow

For those who prefer the thrill of water from the freshwater type, rental South Africa is certainly not disappoint – there’s canoeing, kayaking and whitewater rafting opportunities throughout the year.

The Orange River and the Breede River are the two favorite rivers for kayaking and rafting on vacation in South Africa. They offer a large stage, and gentle stretching and fast and fun, which can be visited by people of different skill levels. For the most serious water rafting, Blyde in Mpumalanga, the Umkomaas in KwaZulu-Natal, and Buffalo have some nice fast but difficult to test their technical skills.

For those who prefer to paddle flatwater courses, kayaking on lakes Garden Route, and the beautiful Kosi Bay, can be a fun way to spend your vacation. You can even see crocodiles and hippos in the lake wetlands such as Lake Santa. Lake Bhangazi Lucia.

For those looking for their variety of water sports adventure, there are many other activities that offer the excitement of the festival in South Africa: windsurfing, kite surfing, diving, snorkeling, diving with sharks and even the cage. So let’s jump in Africa – fine water!
