Holidays in ancient Egypt

Egypt, the land of Pharaohs, is a country rich with culture and history. Being one of the oldest civilizations on earth makes Egypt a marvellous destination if you like history and are planning a vacation or holiday. From the underwater City of Cleopatra, (the last Queen of Egypt), to the New Library at Alexandria, all the way to the recently uncovered tombs found in the Valley of the Kings, an Egyptian Holiday will captivate and inspire your imagination for a life time to come.

But don’t let the Hollywood movies fool you! Egypt is not just a sandy desert that is flat and boring. No way! Egypt also has lush and beautiful coast lines along the Mediterranean and Red Seas; Perfect for spending a lazy day on the water while soaking up some warm sunshine. Diving and snorkelling in Egypt shows the underwater life comes alive in a variety of colours and shapes too. So who knows? You could be the next one to discover an ancient under water artefact while diving.

One place along the coast is named Hurghada. Hurghada is an Egyptian city located on the Red Sea and happens to be a very popular night spot when you are planning an Egyptian Holliday. If diving does not suit you there are glass bottom boats there that can be rented and will allow you to enjoy the many fish and coral life under the sea. The nightlife is one of the main attractions at Hurghada however but there is also a large bazaar that is sure to please even the most frugal shopper. Why pay more, right?

You will need to plan plenty of time for Egypt holidays because there are so places to see and so many things to do. For instance, the three largest and best-preserved pyramids at Giza are among about eighty pyramids that are known to exist from ancient Egypt today. So you will want to see most of these. You will also want to see the Great Sphinx and learn about its legends that are not told in the history books. Then, there are also the numerous Libraries and museums you will not want to miss if you are a history buff.

It does not matter if you travel to the coast or to the desert there will always be something new and exciting to do on an Egyptian Holiday. That is for sure!
